Private Residence - Abu Dhabi, UAE
From decorating a space to building a private collection: helping a high-end interior designer develop a bespoke art programme for their client.
Context
A high-end interior designer approached us while developing a private residence for a client who wanted art to play a central role in the project. Beyond furnishing the interiors, the ambition was to build a private collection that reflected the client's interests and could evolve over time. The brief also included commissioned site-specific installations and murals designed exclusively for the property.
Our role
Working alongside the interior designer from the early stages of the project, we developed a bespoke art programme that brought together collectible artworks, commissioned site-specific installations and murals. We researched and sourced artists whose practices complemented the architectural vision, identified opportunities for bespoke commissions, and advised on the selection and acquisition of works throughout the project. Acting as the link between the client, the design team, artists and galleries, we oversaw the development of each commission and managed the process from initial concept through to installation.
Outcome
The completed residence integrates artworks, commissioned installations and murals into a single, cohesive vision. Art was considered from the outset rather than added at the end, resulting in a home where each work contributes to the architecture, the interiors and the client's growing private collection.
